We are proud of our community and will do all we can to support it. Our fundraising activities are fun as well as financially beneficial to the causes we support.
Below is a snapshot of what we are getting up to during 2016/17 that includes recent pictures of our support for the Somerton Festival where we offered punters the chance to play darts for prizes while introducing them to the work of Rotary within our community.
In September we will be attending the Drayton Street Fair, where our Rotary Club gazebo will be set up in School Street, outside Tim Loosemore’s house. Our aim is to promote all the good work our club does.
One of our main fund raisers in the autumn of 2016 was our Charity Barn Dance which was in Curry Rivel Village Hall that raised over £1000 for the ‘Forget Me Not’ Memory Cafe in Langport.
Other activities that we have carried out during the year include supporting the Stroke Awareness project by offering free blood pressure tests for residents; supported a Charity Clay Pigeon Shoot in aid of the Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance; and raised "funds through fun" at the Somerton Fair.
