Throughout the Rotary year we work on a range of projects that support our local community of Langport & Somerton, national projects through RIBI and international projects often in collaboration with other Rotary Clubs in District 1200 and Rotary's own charity, Foundation


Since 1st July 2016 to 1st November 2017 we have given over £14,000 to the following organisations:-

These are the types of projects we also support and we are open to applications for funds or projects to support in our local community:-


  • Provided small burseries to support young people travel around the globe for their educational and vocational enhancement.
  • Provide support to a local volunteer group who hosted a Christmas Day lunch to those in our community with no family or friends to share the special day with.
  • Helped Curry Rivel Guides buy new tents to support their personal development.
  • We are active supporters of the District's young people's projects, particularly Youth Speaks, Kids Out as well as financial support for both Langport and Somerton Youth Clubs
  • Support projects overseas including "School in a Bag" and "Worldwide Waterboxes"


2016/17 saw us support the Nepal Trust and BIBIC as the two key projects chosen by our President, Mike Gillingham and for our 2017/18 year the incoming President, Roger Hampton is keen to support local charities while still recognising our international commitments
